Madrid's Unbeaten Streak Snapped
In a thrilling El Clasico match, Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
Barcelona took the lead in the 29th minute through a stunning left-footed strike from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Ferran Torres doubled the lead just before halftime with a goal from close range.
Real Madrid came out strong in the second half, but Barca continued to press and added two more goals. Gavi scored in the 63rd minute, and Memphis Depay sealed the victory with a penalty in the 83rd minute.
The result snapped Real Madrid's 15-game unbeaten streak in all competitions and handed Barcelona their first win at the Bernabeu since 2019.
Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez praised his team's performance, saying: "We played with great intensity and determination. We created a lot of chances and took our goals well."
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said his team was "disappointed" but refused to make excuses.
"We just didn't play well enough today," Ancelotti said. "We need to learn from this and move on."
The victory moves Barcelona up to second place in the La Liga standings, two points behind leaders Real Madrid.
