Earthquakes Rattle California

Two Deaths Reported After 6.4 Magnitude Tremor

Latest Updates on Ongoing Seismic Activity

In the early hours of Tuesday, California was rocked by its largest earthquake in decades, measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the quake was located near Ferndale in Humboldt County, and tremors were felt as far away as Sacramento and San Francisco.

Unfortunately, the earthquake has claimed the lives of at least two people. According to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, a man and a woman were killed when a building collapsed in Rio Dell, a small town near Ferndale.

In addition to the fatalities, the earthquake caused widespread damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure. Roads and bridges have been buckled, power lines have been downed, and water mains have burst. Emergency crews are working around the clock to repair the damage and assist those affected.
