The Boston Celtics have taken an early lead in the 2024 NBA Finals, dominating the Dallas Mavericks 63-42 after one half of play. The Celtics shot an impressive 55% from the field and 41% from three-point range, while the Mavericks struggled to find their offensive rhythm.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 32 points, making five three-pointers in the first half. Jaylen Brown also contributed 21 points. Kristaps Porziņģis is expected to return to action for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks barring a setback.
The Mavericks, who were making their first NBA Finals appearance since 2011, were led by Luka Doncic's 17 points. However, the Mavericks shot just 37% from the field and 25% from three-point range.
